# IBM AIX Log Integration

**Log Integration Guide**

**Log Integration procedure:**

To forward logs, make the following configuration.

1. **Login to the Terminal of AIX**
2. **Enable Syslog daemon & log forwarding.**

Activate syslog daemon to write into /var/log/syslog.out files.

In /etc/syslog.conf uncomment the following entry or add if it is not present:

`*.debug /var/log/syslog.out rotate size 100k files 4`

Also add the following lines to the syslog configuration file located in /etc/syslog.conf at the end of the file.

`*.info @10.20.100.161`

`*.alert @10.20.100.161`

`*.notice @10.20.100.161`

`*.debug @10.20.100.161`

`*.err @10.20.100.161`

`*.crit @10.20.100.161`

`*.emerg @10.20.100.161`

**Replace 10.20.100.161 with Log Collector IP of specific branch.**

Save the changes.

Create the log file in case it does not exist:

`touch /var/log/syslog.out`

Restart the syslog daemon.

`refresh -s syslogd`
